Full throttle to the top: The UPBracing Team of Paderborn University presents its new racing car "PX426E" to the public. On Friday 29 May, the result of months of work will be presented in the university's Audimax. The team will talk about technical innovations, give an insight into 20 years of team history and show the new racing car in its anniversary design. Anyone interested will have the opportunity to experience the racing car live, talk to team members and find out more about the project. Students and school pupils are also cordially invited. Admission is at 4 pm, the presentation starts at 5 pm. Registration via an online form is requested by 22 May.
The electric car was developed by university students themselves and assembled in their own workshop. The team hopes to build on the successes of recent years. With a completely new drive train, which includes all components for power transmission from the motor to the wheels, including the battery, the vehicle is set to set new standards in terms of performance and efficiency. The UPBracing team will compete against teams from other universities at four Formula Student events, a global competition for young engineers. This year, the team will be travelling to events in Germany (FSFuture), Austria (FSA), Croatia (FSAA) and Italy (FSATA). With various podium finishes last year, the team has already positioned itself in the top 50 worldwide.
About the UPBracing Team
The UPBracing Team consists of 70 members from all five faculties of Paderborn University. This year, the student initiative is celebrating its 20th anniversary. The team develops, simulates, designs and manufactures a racing car within six months. This is presented to the public for the first time during the rollout. At international Formula Student events, the UPBracing team competes against other teams in various disciplines. More than 1,400 teams from over 80 countries take part in Formula Student. The UPBracing Team is currently ranked 47th in the world.
