Getting started with your PhD writing project (in English)

Ready, set, go! In this workshop, everything revolves around the most important prerequisites for a well-prepared, motivated, and goal-oriented start into the PhD writing project.

In this interactive online workshop, we address central questions regarding the start of your writing journey through brief theoretical inputs, numerous practical exercises, and discussion phases that take the diverse writing preferences and research projects of all participants seriously:

  • Is my topic clearly defined, viable, and feasible?
  • Who has what expectations of my PhD project?
  • What are my previous experiences with research writing?
  • Which approach suits my personal working style?
  • How can I structure and plan my writing process?
  • How do I set concrete and achievable writing goals?

This workshop is open to PhD students from all faculties who are at the beginning of their doctoral phase. To participate successfully, all you need is an initial idea of your topic and a rough idea of the timeframe for your project.
